Obituary For Gari Caryl Mahan

Gari Caryl Mahan, née Bowling, passed away on March 19, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Edgewood, Kentucky. Born on November 2, 1963, in Fort Thomas, Kentucky, Gari’s life was marked by dedication, warmth, and a spirited passion for the things she loved.

A proud graduate of Lloyd High School in Erlanger, Gari was an active member of the swim team, showcasing her determination and commitment from a young age. Her professional career spanned over two decades working as an administrator in Human Resources, where she made significant contributions at the Internal Revenue Service before continuing her career at Crane and DHL. Her work reflected a steadfast commitment to excellence and integrity.

Gari’s personal passions brought joy not only to herself but also to those around her. She cherished peaceful walks on the beach, delightful dinners, and lively dances shared with her devoted husband, Jeff Mahan. A fervent enthusiast of the Wizard of Oz, Gari's delight in this classic story was a reflection of her imaginative spirit. She found immense pleasure in cooking, delighting in the happiness her culinary creations brought to family and friends. Above all, she loved her dogs, who were constant companions throughout her life.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Jeff Mahan; her son, Brandon James, and his wife, Jacinda; her daughter, Rachael Woods, and her husband, Marcus Torres; and her cherished grandchildren, Cameron Torres and Mason James. Gari was also part of a large and loving family, including 10 siblings who carry her memory in their hearts.

Gari was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Barbara Bowling, whose legacies live on through her.

A visitation will be held on March 28, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, followed by funeral services from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Alliance Funeral Home & Cremation Center, located at 7816 Dixie Highway, Florence, Kentucky, 41042. These moments will provide family and friends a precious opportunity to honor her memory and celebrate a life well-lived.
