Obituary For Gary Chaney
Gary Chaney, 58, of Alexandria, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 1, 2026. He was born on January 22, 1968, in Covington, Kentucky, to the late James and Frieda Chaney.
Gary spent his entire life working as a roofer, proudly carrying on a trade that was passed down from his father. From a young age, he worked alongside his dad, learning the value of hard work, dedication, and craftsmanship—values he carried with him throughout his life.
In his free time, Gary enjoyed playing cards and listening to music, especially classic rock favorites like Pink Floyd and Guns N’ Roses. Above all else, he cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren, who brought him endless joy and laughter.
Gary is survived by his daughters, Faithann (Thadeus) Graves, Chelsea (Drew) Sabelhaus, and Tonya (Nick) DiTucci, sons, Adam (Alycia) Dimmitt and Gary Chaney. Gary always said he "had a kid on every school bus.” He is also survived by his sisters: Frankie Chaney and Tracy Cozart; brothers, John Morgan, Marshall Chaney, Tom Chaney, and Doug Chaney and his 11 beloved grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Care, 40 West 6th Street, Covington, Kentucky 41011.
