Obituary For Gary Clayton Mullikin

Gary Clayton Mullikin passed away on January 12, 2026, after a short battle with ALS.

A tinkerer at heart - Gary was a skilled mechanic, computer guy, and general Mr. Fixit. He graduated as a 1979 valedictorian of Boone County High School and went on to receive a Bachelor of Science from NKU in Management with a minor in Computer Science. He worked as a traveling salesman, a warehouse manager, and finally an IT specialist in cybersecurity with the IRS and small business owner. He was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ and a Mason with Phoenix Lodge #719.

Gary was preceded in death by parents, Selvey Clayton Mullikin (1918-2003) and Anna Pauline Jones Mullikin (1922-2008). He is survived by sister Paula (Michael) Benton, wife of 38 years Debora Puckett Mullikin, children Kaitlin (David) Barber, Michaela (Kyle) Werling, and stepchildren Dennis Taylor, Jr., Deanna Taylor as well as grandchildren Sadie Barber, Anna Barber, Silas Werling, Althea Werling, Elaine Werling, Donald Taylor, Haylee Taylor, Dean Taylor, Dominic Wells, Micah Wells, and Shiloh Taylor.

Visitation will take place on Friday, January 16, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 7:00 p.m. at Stith Funeral Home, 7500 US Hwy 42, Florence, KY 41042. Burial will take place on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Maple Grove Cemetery in Germantown, Kentucky.
