Gary Lee Cole, 69, of Florence, KY, passed away unexpectedly on November 11, 2025, at Woodcrest Nursing and Rehabilitation in Elsmere, KY. Born on January 6, 1956, in Covington, KY, he was the son of James W. Cole and Emma D. Bertke.

Gary AKA Colby was a sweet and kindhearted person with a fun and goofy personality. He loved going to flea markets, fishing and playing cards with his best friend Greg. He also loved cheering on his favorite college basketball team, the Kentucky Wildcats and also watched wrestling.

Gary is survived by his siblings brother John Cole and sister Lisa (Jeff) Gaiser; nieces Heidi Cole, Teresa James, Stevie Gaiser, Courtney McCauley, Anna Gaiser and their families; as well as his stepmother Myrtle Cole, stepsister Bev Theiry, stepchild Angie Oliva and his very best friend Greg Lemker. Gary was preceded in death by his parents.

Gary’s cremation will take place privately on November 13, 2025. After that, he will be laid to rest by family at their convenience at Cole’s Branch Family Cemetery in Flat Lick, KY.

Gary never complained about anything. Always had a good attitude. We will miss his love and spirit every day.
