Georgia Woolley, née Ellis, 90, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2026, at Story Point in Walton, Kentucky. Born on October 23, 1935, in Danville, Kentucky, she lived a life marked by dedication, kindness, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life.
Georgia’s professional life was devoted to meticulous and conscientious work, serving as a bookkeeper at 5/3rd Bank, where her attention to detail and reliability were highly valued. Beyond her career, she generously shared her time and compassion by volunteering at St. Elizabeth Hospice, offering comfort and support to those in need during challenging times.
A woman of varied interests, Georgia was an avid reader who found solace and adventure within the pages of countless books. She was also passionate about gardening, nurturing her plants with the same care she extended to every part of her life, and she took pride in maintaining an immaculate home. Her community engagement included many years of active participation in the Ludlow Boosters Club, reflecting her enduring commitment to fostering spirit and connection locally.
Deeply loved by family and friends alike, Georgia had a special affinity for her dogs and cats, whose companionship brought her great joy. Her gentle and devoted nature was a cornerstone for those who knew her.
Georgia leaves behind her beloved son, Gary (Yvonne) Woolley of New Bern, North Carolina; her cherished grandson, Dan (Christina) Woolley of Independence, Kentucky; her great-grandchildren, Avery and Lincoln Woolley; and daughter-in-law, Colleen Woolley. Their lives have been enriched immeasurably by her love and guidance.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Woolley; her son, Larry Woolley; and her parents, Stanley and Ruth Ellis.
A burial service to honor and celebrate Georgia's life will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2026, beginning at 9:30 a.m. at Spring Grove Cemetery, 4521 Spring Grove Ave, Cincinnati, Ohio 45232.
