Obituary For Georgina Anthon

Georgina Anthon, lovingly known as “Sis” to her family and “Gigi” to the neighborhood kids who adored her, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2025, after decades of courageously battling health challenges. She is now at peace.

Born with a big heart and an even bigger spirit, Georgina lived a life full of grit, love, and laughter. She called many places home over the years—Texas, Wisconsin, Kentucky, and more—traveling across the country and beyond during her time proudly serving in the U.S. Army. Inspired by the service of her father and brother, Georgina followed in their footsteps, dedicating herself to her country with the same loyalty and determination that defined her entire life.

Georgina had a way of making an impression wherever she went. She was protective, brutally honest, scrappy, and loyal. Those who knew her best will remember her for her fierce love and her quick wit. She was the type of person you could count on—whether you needed a laugh, a truth check, or a shoulder to lean on.

Georgina was a passionate sports fan who never missed a Kentucky basketball game and loved spending Sundays watching football with her daughter. In her younger years, she enjoyed running around with her big brother, Jimmy, and hanging out with friends while listening to rock and roll. She even took her baby sister to her very first concert—Rick Springfield—creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Above all, Georgina was a devoted mother who loved her daughter deeply. Her love was tough, real, and boundless.

Surviving her is her daughter; Sheena (Chloe Lambert) Mann, grandchildren; Evan and Kahmdyn, siblings; Sheila (Jim) Wermeling, Karen (Dan) Ruschmann, and Sharon Bailey, her cat; Sassy, as well as her neighborhood friends and their children whom she loved dearly.

Preceding her in death are her parents; George Mann, Frances and “Ken” Bailey, her son; Houston Anthon, and her favorite pup, Bowzer.

Please join her family and friends wearing Red for Georgina on Monday, October 20, 2025 at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home 45 North Main St, Walton, KY 41094. Visitation from 5:00pm-7:00pm with a service to follow at 7:00pm.

In honor of Georgina’s life and the care she once received, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, an organization that supported her tremendously through the care and loss of her son.
