Obituary For Glenn "Breadman" McKibben

Glenn “Breadman” McKibben, 81, passed away on September 18, 2026.

Glenn was a hardworking man who took great pride in providing for his family. He was employed for more than 40 years with Klosterman Bakery, where he owned and operated his own bread sales route. Glenn also worked as a manager at the bakery at the end of his career at Klosterman’s. Even in retirement, Glenn wasn’t one to sit still. He worked security at Turfway Park, combining his love of racing with his enjoyment of being around people.

Glenn had a lifelong love of racing; he owned several racehorses over the years and spent many years as a horse trainer. He also enjoyed NASCAR and, having raced cars himself, could appreciate the excitement and competition of racing from both sides of the track. Glenn was always ready to throw in the chips with poker or play any card game with his friends, son-in-laws, or grandchildren. Glenn was also a UK fan and always happy to cheer on the Wildcats.

In Glenn’s retirement years, he picked back up his love for fishing and the outdoors, but his greatest joy came from his family. He especially cherished spending time with his grandchildren and following them in their various sports and activities.

Glenn will be deeply missed by his daughters, Amy (David) McKibben-Mayo and Kari (Martin) McKibben-Goetz; grandchildren, Darbi, Andrew, Jackson, and Nolan; nephew, JD McKibben; and his beloved granddog, Chewy, along with other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jack & Sadie McKibben and his brother, J. Dale McKibben.

Glenn will be remembered by his love of racehorses, a card game, his strong work ethic, love of racing and fishing, his enjoyment of people, and most of all, the love and pride he had for his family.

Visitation will be held on October 11, 2026, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Linnemann Funeral Homes, Burlington. A memorial service will begin at 4 p.m., followed by a reception from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Memorial contributions can be made to The Cincinnati Eye Institute Foundation Attn: Amy Jones 1945 CEI Drive Cincinnati, OH 45242.
