Obituaries

Gordon Owen Adams (MSgt, USAF Retired), a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away 9 December, 2025 in Sebring, FL.

Born 10 July, 1940 at Booth Hospital in Covington, KY. He graduated from Newport High School.
Gordon (“Gordie”) went on to serve his country during the Vietnam War and retired from the U.S. Air
Force in 1979 after 20 years of service.

Gordon was known for his love of greyhounds, traveling/cruises, and fishing. He found great joy in
playing cards and doing crossword puzzles.

Gordon was a devoted husband to his wife Laurel for 35 years. He was a loving father to Sherrie
(Willie) Rogers, Duane (Sarah) Adams, Melissa (Jemal) Taborn, and Cristy (Lonnie) Richardson and
very proud grandfather to 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Gordon is also survived by his
brother (Robert “Bob” Adams) and sister (Linda Megerle). Gordon was preceded in death by his
father Russell, mother Mary, and first wife, Doris Tiemeyer Adams.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Gordon’s honor to the American Cancer
Society.
