Obituary For Gregory Thomas Karlson
Gregory Thomas Karlson, 74, passed away March 3, 2026.
After working many years for his family business, HAPCO, Greg went on to be a driver for City Dash. A devoted sports fan, even braving the Freezer Bowl in support of his Bengals (a favorite story of his to tell). An enthusiast of music, which he loved to share with family and friends. Never one to meet a stranger, he enjoyed endless conversations at the 915 Pub & Grill, Midway Cafe, The FT. Thomas Pub and others. This included previously calling bingo Monday nights at The Elks, doing so once again when he arrived at Villaspring Nursing Facility.
Greg was born on March 16, 1951 in Ft. Thomas, KY. The eldest child of Harry and Ruth Karlson. A 1970 graduate of Highlands High School in Ft. Thomas, KY, and remained living there for much of his life.
Greg is survived by two sons, Nathaniel (Erin) and Steven Karlson. His cherished Granddaughters Kelsey, Jamie, Delilah Owens and Emma Karlson. In addition, he is also survived by his brother Bruce (Beverli) Karlson, and sisters Kathy (Bob) Dickey and Meri (Rick) Ritchie, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

My heart breaks to hear this. I met Greg at City Dash. I was new to the morning route crew and him and James made sure I felt it lol. They were always there to laugh at me getting stuck in an old elevator in downtown Cincinnati; raz me for taking too long on an out of town trip; or be there on the radio when I needed help. We became our own little family and I was the little sister they picked on, but they always had my back if I needed them. I miss them both and hope they are now reunited and are out doing each other's stories 🤣 RIP Greg. I'll never forget you my friend ❤️

Uncle Greg was always special to me! Even when we went years without seeing each other because we lived in different cities he always made me laugh when we were together. He had a kind heart and I know he was a positive light to many people in his life.

It was fun times with Greg! Summer vacations in Florida, cruising greater Cincinnati in the red Dodge convertible, crashing at his place in Newport. Then later his occasional trips to Chicago and mine to Cincinnati. But always a spirited debate over the latest band or sports event. Most of all the big laugh, sometimes at my misbegotten views, sometimes at anything or nothing at all. Greg was one of a kind to me. (Bruce, Let me know the arrangements. Long before City Dash, Greg was hauling us far and wide, the car radio blaring I Heard It Through the Grapevine, Atlantis and Let It Be. Rock & Roll Aficionado. Sportsman. Comedian. Friend. Brother. Greg was all of those things to me. Never a dull moment. Miss you Bro.
