Obituary For Harold Edward Urbach, Jr.

Harold Edward Urbach Jr., 86, of Cold Springs, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026. He was born on November 28, 1939, in Hibbing, Minnesota, to the late Harold and Katherine (Maras) Urbach.

Harold was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He shared 63 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Jean. Together, they built a life filled with love, family, faith, and many cherished adventures. Harold and Jean shared a deep appreciation for the outdoors and enjoyed taking frequent camping trips, especially to Silent Valley Campground in California, where they made countless memories together.

From an early age, Harold developed a love and respect for the outdoors. As a Sea Scout and Boy Scout, he gained a wealth of knowledge about the world around him and developed an appreciation for the beauty of nature. He especially enjoyed fishing and swimming and found great joy in spending time outside.

Harold was a devoted member of St. Joseph Mission Church, where his faith was an important part of his life. Growing up, he proudly served as an altar boy, taking great pride in the responsibility and service that role provided.

Those who knew Harold will also remember him as the family cook. He loved preparing meals for the people he loved and was especially famous for his barbecue. Sharing good food and time together was one of the many ways Harold showed his love for his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Katherine (Maras) Urbach; his beloved wife, Jean Urbach; his sisters, Jacqueline Framstead and Katherine Fryhoff; and his granddaughter, Creesha Cox.

Harold is survived by his three children, Scott E. (Rhonda) Urbach, Shannon (Tom) Egan, and Mark Urbach; his grandchildren, Zachary Urbach, Emma (Spencer) Edsall, Seth Urbach, Cole (Kim) Egan, Cody Marie, Cooper (Genises) Egan, Clay Egan, and Chloe Egan; his brother, Stephen (Donna) Urbach; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at St. Joseph Mission Church. The Rosary will be prayed at 12:30 p.m., followed by a 1:00 p.m. Requiem Mass. Burial will follow.
