Harriet Marie Kanter, 92, of Villa Hills, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 22, 2025. She was born October 13, 1932, in Detroit, MI, the daughter of the late Walter Kosek and Olga (nee Kardasz) Kosek, loving sister to the late Helene Smith (Stanley) of Detroit, MI and the late Joseph Kosek (Connie) of Westland, MI. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Max Kanter, she is survived by her children, Gary Kanter (Kim) of Edgewood, KY, Bryan Kanter (Janet) of Villa Hills, KY, Kevin Kanter (Maria) of Crescent Springs, KY and Scott Kanter (Laurie) of Celebration, FL. She was the dear grandmother of Elizabeth Bartz (Steve), Eric Kanter (Grace), Lauren Fotsch (Ben), Megan Locey (Jon), Rachel Lobeck (Andrew), Brandon Kanter (Kathryn), Nick Kanter, Kylie Kanter and Kara Norvell (Kyle) and 12 great-grandchildren.

She retired from Northern KY Water District in 1993 after 17 years of service as an Office Clerk. She was a member of St. Pius X Church in Edgewood, KY, and loved her retirement home in Englewood, FL. She enjoyed volunteering, making various crafts, seashell searching, golf ball hunting and spending time with her family. Visitation will be held Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 10AM at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Edgewood, KY. Mass of Christian burial will follow the visitation at 11AM at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Edgewood, KY. Inurnment will be a private ceremony at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association and the American Heart Association.
