Obituary For Harry W. Holman Jr.
Harry W. Holman Jr., age 85 of Florence, KY passed away on September 10, 2023. Harry was born in Atlanta, Indiana on August 30, 1938 to Harry W. Holman Sr. and Agnes Brown Holman. Harry retired in 2000 as a Clerk with the Norfolk Southern Railroad after 40 plus years of service in central and northern Indiana and Illinois; he split his residence between Florence, KY and Estero, FL and he was an active member of Florence Christian Church. He loved to garden and travel all over the United States. He appreciated nature, putting out seed and peanuts for the birds every morning. A favorite pastime was hunting, gathering, and cracking black walnuts; he shelled buckets of them every year. Harry was preceded in death by his Wife Linda Heyerly who passed in 2014 and Grandson Brandon Perrine who passed in 2013. Harry is survived by his fiancee’ Virginia “Ginny” Yahl, his Children Angela Holman (John Nieland), Amanda Murphy (Jason), Doug Swygart (Donna), Brent Swygart, and Christa Perrine (Scott), Sisters Mary Ford and Nancy Ayers (Marion), Ginny’s Children Kevin Yahl (Sarah), Douglas Yahl (Robin), and Brian Yahl (Maridith), Grandchildren Chris Nieland (Ashlynn), Matthew Nieland, Josh Swygart (Krista), Matt Swygart, Ben Swygart, Nathan Swygart (Brittany), Rachael Murbach (Wil), and Lyndsay McConnaughey (Fred), and 13 Great Grandchildren. The Visitation will be from 2 PM – 3 PM with the Funeral Service to follow at 3 PM on Sunday, September 24, 2023 at Florence Christian Church, 300 Main St., Florence, KY 41042. Burial will be on Tuesday, September 26 at 1PM with a brief graveside service at IOOF Cemetery in New Haven, IN 46774. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to Florence Christian Church. Online condolences may be made at www.stithfuneralhomes.com
