Obituary For Hazel Jean Bentley

Hazel Jean Bentley (née Hannah), age 79, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2026, at her residence in Union, Kentucky. Hazel was born on September 1, 1946, to the late Walter “Brud” Hannah and Jean Hannah (née Suter).

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jeff Bentley, and her brother, Joe Hannah.

Hazel dedicated her professional life to caring for others, serving as a Nurse Practitioner for more than 30 years at the Boone County Health Department. Her compassion, work ethic, and commitment to public health left a lasting impact on the many lives she touched throughout her career.

If you knew her, you knew that her true passion was found in her quilting and cross-stitching. She spent countless hours in her sewing room creating intricate pieces which, in-turn, she passed on as treasured heirlooms for both family and friends. She was a proud member of the Boone County Homemakers.

She is survived by her loving children, Kim (Joe) Meyer and Mick Bentley. Hazel was a proud and devoted grandmother to Hannah Meyer, Jessica Kaiser, Lauren Handorf, Emily Bentley, Lyndsey (Danny) Maxon, and Ruth Bentley, and a cherished great-grandmother to Brooklyn and Olivia.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Linneman Funeral Homes, 1940 Burlington Pike, Burlington, Kentucky.

Online condolences may be shared with the family at Linneman Funeral Homes.
