Obituary For Ida Kaznody

Ida Kaznody, 73, of Union, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 24, 2026.

Born in Russia on November 15, 1952, Ida was the beloved daughter of the late Hayam and Galinda Khit. She pursued her education with determination, earning her master’s degree before immigrating to the United States.

Ida devoted her life to her home and loved ones. As a dedicated homemaker, she found her greatest joy in caring for her children and grandchildren, who were the center of her world. She had a passion for cooking and will be especially remembered for her cherished homemade gefilte fish, a tradition that brought family together around the table. Ida also found peace and happiness outdoors, tending to her vegetable garden and nurturing both plants and relationships with equal care. Family gatherings were her greatest delight, and she created countless warm memories that will be treasured forever.

In addition to her parents, Ida was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 35 years, Nickolay Kaznody.

She leaves behind her loving daughters, Cicilia (Fred) Jernigan and Yelena Kaznody; her brother, Boris (Irena) Khan; her sisters, Zina Goldberg, Luba Aronov, and Marina Neger; and her cherished grandchildren, Nicolette Luna, Sasha Luna, and Landon Luna.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
