Obituary For Inez Joan Nelson
Inez Joan Nelson (nee Krouse) of Langhorne, Pennsylvania, formerly of Fort Mitchell, Kentucky passed away peacefully on December 28th at 90 years old with her family by her side.
Born on July 15, 1934 in Detroit, Michigan, she attended Central High School, and the University of Michigan where she met the love of her life, Richard Nelson. After getting married, they started their life together at the University of Pittsburgh, where she finished her degree and he attended law school. She spent over 30 years in Northern Kentucky, raising her family before relocating to Massachusetts and Pennsylvania to be near her daughters and grandchildren. She was the former President of Hope Cottage and the Jaycee Wives of Northern Kentucky, and served as Treasurer for the Attleboro Residents Association in Langhorne, Pennsylvania.
Inez was an incredibly loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother - affectionately known as Pawkaw (“Pawk”) in her later years. She was known to enjoy a rousing game of mahjong with friends, a box of any kind of chocolate, and a secret stash of Teddy Grahams as a nighttime snack. However, none of that compared to her love for and pride in her family. She was preceded in death by her parents Dan and Queenie Krouse, her husband Richard, and her son Gary. She will be lovingly missed by her children David (Libby) Nelson, Linda (Walt) Arvin, Wendy (Richard) Kravitz, grandchildren Drew (Maggie) Arvin, Erin (Jason Benson) Nelson, Stephanie (Greg) Palmer, Hanna (Patterson) Perrin, Annie Nelson, and great-grandchildren Henry, Hudson, Charlotte, Bennett, and Cyrus. She is also survived by her sister Elly Millman, nephews Eric Millman, Robert (Xixi Zhu) Millman, and numerous cousins.
Visitation will be held at the James O. Bradley Funeral Home, 260 Bellevue Avenue, Penndel, Pennsylvania, on Thursday, January 2nd between 4:00-6:00 pm. Burial will be private.
