Obituaries

Irene L. East, 96, of Falmouth, Kentucky, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on December 31, 2025.

Irene retired from the Cincinnati Board of Education after many years of dedicated service. In her free time, she enjoyed working puzzles and especially loved dancing with her husband, Ralph, who preceded her in death in 2016.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, Earl & Edna (Murphy) Straub, sons Stanley (Linda) Deaton and Ray East and siblings; Hilda Kuhl, Agnes Tolle, Alberta Powers, Helen Straub, Stella Whitaker, Earl Straub and Frankie Straub.

Irene is survived by her daughter, Connie (Billy) Singleton; her sons, James (Linda) Deaton and Otis East; her brother, Jimmy Straub; her sister, Margaret McMillen and eight cherished grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at Floral Hills Cemetery on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.
