Obituary For Irene Mosley
Irene Mosley, age 88, of Burlington, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on April 19, 1938, in Foraker, Kentucky, Irene was the daughter of the late Basil and Dove Bolin. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Cordelia Back, Arvel Bolin, and Dan Bolin; and by two of her children, Robin Lynn Hatton and James Leslie Mosley.
On August 11, 1977, Irene married the love of her life, James Ralph Mosley. Their marriage was a beautiful love story built on devotion, friendship, laughter, and unwavering commitment. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and love. Those who knew Irene and Jim admired the special bond they shared and the joy they found in one another throughout their nearly 49 years of marriage.
Irene was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her beloved husband, James Ralph Mosley; her children, Marcia Gail Fancher, Cynthia Rae Charles (Rory), Lena Kay Christman, Melinda Ann Fasso (Christian), David Mack Mosley (Laura), John Phillip Mosley (Kelly), Gerald Scott Mosley (Ginger), and Joseph Andrew Mosley; 27 grandchildren; and 44 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will cherish her memory.
A faithful member of Burlington Baptist Church, Irene lived her life guided by her faith and her deep love for family. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Family gatherings, celebrations, holidays, and simple moments together brought her tremendous happiness, and she treasured every opportunity to be surrounded by those she loved.
Irene retired from Cincinnati Gas & Electric (CG&E), where she served as a Customer Service Manager. Throughout her career, she was respected for her dedication, strong work ethic, and commitment to helping others.
Those who knew Irene will remember her for her kindness, strength, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family. She was the heart of her family, offering love, guidance, and support to generations. Her life was a testament to faith, perseverance, and the importance of family. The legacy she leaves behind will continue through the many lives she touched.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Burlington Baptist Church, 3031 Washington Street, Burlington, Kentucky. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m., followed by burial at Burlington Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather for a Celebration of Life at the Burlington Baptist Church Community Building immediately following the burial.
While her family mourns her passing, they find comfort in knowing that she is reunited with loved ones who went before her and in the countless memories she leaves behind. Her love, wisdom, and example will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
