Obituary For James Boekley

James W. Boekley (Jim), 86, of Fort Thomas, passed away on October 5, 2025, at his home surrounded by family. Jim was born on July 6, 1939, in Dayton, KY to James Paul and Hazel (Lloyd) Boekley. He was a proud graduate of the University of Kentucky where he received a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He retired from Duke Energy where he spent most of his career. Jim lived a life grounded in faith, love, integrity, and dedication to his family. He was the solid foundation of his home, always leading by example with quiet strength, a kind heart, and unwavering support. Jim was married to the love of his life, Connie, for 50 years, and together they built a family focused on faith, love, and living with purpose. He was the proud father of Amy, Karin and Kelly, an amazing grandfather to Rob, Courtney, T.J., Nicole, Rebecca, Rylee, Carter and Campbell and a great-grandfather to Pierce, Levi, Everett, Hazel, Cooper and Anniston. Whether gathered around the dinner table, lending a helping hand, or sharing his stories, wisdom or jokes, he reminded us all of what truly matters. Jim always showed up for his family never missing a ball game, dance recital, graduation, recognition or countless other special occasions.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Constance Boekley and a sister Jean Garlich. Jim is survived by his daughters, Amy (Tim) Franzen, Kelly (Bill) Smith, and Karin (Brian) Thomas, 8 grandchildren Rob (Audrey) Franzen, Courtney (Gatlin) Claybern, T.J. (Katie) Franzen, Nicole (Kevin) Finke, Rebecca Thomas, Rylee Thomas, Carter Smith, and Campbell Smith and 6 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Friday, October 10, 2025, at Dobbling Funeral Home 106 S. Ft. Thomas Avenue in Ft. Thomas. Funeral Ceremony will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, October 11, 2025, at the First Baptist Church of Cold Spring in Cold Spring, KY. Burial will take place in the Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate, KY.
