Obituary For James Emil Horstman
James Emil Horstman,49, of Newport, Kentucky, passed away surrounded by love. Known to many as Jimmy or “JROC”, he was a man whose humor, loyalty, and larger than then life personality left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
Jimmy was born on March 3, 1976, in Fort Thomas, Kentucky. He was an avid sports fan, proudly cheering for the San Francisco 49ers, the Cincinnati Bearcats, and the Big Red Machine – the Cincinnati Reds. Game days were never just about the score for Jimmy; they were about passion, laughter, and sharing the moment with those around him.
Jimmy was well known for his unforgettable sense of humor. His quick wit, playful sarcasm, and ability to make people laugh could brighten even the darkest days. He had a natural way of bringing people and making everyone feel welcome.
Above all else, Jimmy was a devoted father and loving partner. He leaves behind his sons, Seth Horstman and Luke Horstman, and his daughter Payton Horstman, who were truly the center of his world. He also leaves behind the one-of-a-kind love of his life, Courtney Clark, the wonderful mother of his children, with whom he shared a deep, enduring, and unbreakable bond.
Jimmy is also survived by his siblings: Sharon Horstman, Billie (Kevin) Freeman, Angel Stamper, Eliza Stamper, Joshua Stamper, Dennis (September) Stamper, Mark Stamper, John Stamper III, and Tony (Julie) Stamper along with a host of nieces, nephews, family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, John Stamper Jr. and his mother Darlene Stamper and his maternal grandparents William (Bill) Ewing and Dorothy Ewing.
Services will be held at Cooper Funeral Home in Alexandria, KY on Friday, January 2, 2026, from 10:00am to 12:00noon.
