Obituary For James Patrick Halpin, Sr.
James Patrick "Jim" Halpin, Sr., 79, of Taylor Mill, KY, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2026.
He was a retired firefighter with 20+ years of service in Covington, KY. After retirement, Jim enjoyed golfing and was an assistant grounds crew manager at Twin Oaks golf course.
He was a member of Holy Cross Parish in Covington (Latonia), KY, and was a member of Covington Moose Lodge #1469 in Taylor Mill, KY.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents: James and Dorothy Halpin and brother: Richard Halpin.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years: Sharon L. Halpin; sons: James P. (Julie) Halpin, Jr. and Steven D. Halpin; siblings: John (Tina) Halpin, Mary (late: Mike) Taney, Pat (late: Denny) Taney, Dennis Halpin and Bill (Kathy) Halpin; 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Holy Cross Church, 3612 Church Street, Covington (Latonia), KY 41015. A Celebration of Life for Jim will take place following Mass at the Covington Firefighters Association, 2232 Howell Street, Covington, KY 41014 until 4:00 PM.
