Obituary For James Richard Grattan

James Richard Grattan, age 75, of Southgate, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts, James was the beloved son of the late Norm and Mary (Kuyzk) Grattan. He spent his career as a dedicated Crane Operator at Joseph T. Ryerson Steel before retiring. James was a proud member of Muskies Inc., where he shared his passion for the outdoors with fellow enthusiasts.
A man of many interests, James had a deep love for train modeling and traveling. He was a true foodie who delighted in discovering new flavors, a skilled knife collector, and a creative electronics builder. He also found joy in scuba diving and relaxing with a good movie.
James was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his devoted wife, Linda; his cherished son, Marc Brandon Grattan; and his brother, Marc William Grattan.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate James’s life during a visitation on Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Cooper Funeral Home, with a funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Peach Grove Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers the family is asking donations for the Ohio Minnow Fund.
