Janet Marie Votaw, 84, of Petersburg, KY, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 16, 2026. Born in Covington, KY, on November 2, 1941, she was the loving daughter of the late John and Edna Hensley.

Janet was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved gardening, shopping, cooking, and especially baking for those she loved. Janet also treasured traveling to Tennessee and spending time in the beautiful Great Smoky Mountains. Those special places brought her peace and happiness throughout the years.

In addition to her parents, Janet was preceded in death by her beloved husband of more than 25 years, Billy Votaw; her son, John Campbell; her brother, Charles Hensley; and her sister, Nancy Moore.

She leaves behind her loving daughter, Beth (Stuart) Bowling; grandchildren, Joshua Blevins, Chris (Jessica) Blevins, and Zack (Meridith) Blevins; and great-grandchildren, Lexi Blevins, Macy Blevins, McKinley Blevins, Lindsey Blevins, Hayden Blevins, Logan Blevins, and Paislee Blevins, all of whom will cherish her memory forever.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials are suggested in Janet’s name to Bullitsburg Baptist Church, 2616 Bullitsburg Road, Petersburg, KY 41080 or to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 5825 Gratz Road, Owenton, KY 40359.
