Obituary For Jerome Edward Harwood

Jerome “Jerry” Edward Harwood, 82, of Burlington, Kentucky, entered into rest on Friday, February 13, 2026.

Jerry was born in Portsmouth, Ohio, to his late parents, Mauriece and Helen Rosemary Harwood. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Jack Harwood.

Left to mourn Jerry’s passing is his wife of 35 years, Janet Harwood. He will also be greatly missed by his son, Joe Harwood (Ashley); his stepson, Brian Hendricks (Nicole); his grandchildren, Cayden, Jaxon, and Declan; his brother, Jim Harwood (Mary); and several nieces and nephews.

Jerry worked as a teacher and a bus driver; he picked up the kids, taught them, and drove them home. He loved telling jokes. In fact, Jerry authored a couple of joke books, using the jokes that he told the kids on his bus. He was never at a loss for words; he loved to talk. Jerry was the type of man who never met a stranger. His memory will be forever cherished by all those who loved him.

Friends and family will gather at Stith Funeral Home, 7500 US Hwy 42, Florence, Kentucky 41042, on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, for a visitation from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will immediately follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Erlanger, Kentucky.
