Obituary For Jerry Olding
Jerry Olding, age 90, of Alexandria, KY passed away peacefully on May 27, 2026 leaving behind a legacy of hard work, family commitment and a life-long love for the great outdoors.
Jerry was a master carpenter working for the same company, Klenco Construction, for more than 55 years. He was well-respected and liked by co-workers as well as clients for his work ethic, precision and attention to detail.
A graduate of Newport Catholic High School and Army veteran, Jerry was also a long-time parishioner of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Cold Spring, KY.
When he wasn’t working, Jerry was happiest in the field and on the water. He was an avid duck hunter and fisherman who greatly enjoyed these times with family and friends. Jerry enjoyed the simple things in life: family dinners, birthday and holiday celebrations, reading the newspaper and watching nearly any sporting event. In later years, he enjoyed pool time with his grandchildren, attending their sporting events and spending time with them just to catch up. He was a very good listener. More recently, he beamed when visiting with his great-grandson. His smile said it all. His constant positive outlook was like no other.
A dedicated family man, Jerry is survived by his wife of 62 years, June (nee Kaltenbach), two children, Steve (Kathy) and Lisa Wells (Chris), two grandchildren, Erin Reis (Mitchell) and Brian Wells (Ali Doepker) and his cherished great-grandchild, Mason Reis. He was preceded in death by parents John and Margaret (Niehaus) Olding and a sister Rose Hanlon.
A visitation will be held Saturday, June 6, 2026 from 10:30 am to 11:30 am at St. Joseph Parish, Cold Spring. A memorial mass will begin at 11:30 with Fr. Getney officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Parish, Cincinnati Alzheimer's Association, or to St. Jude's Children's Place.
