Obituary For Jill Jannine Shafer

Jill Jannine Shafer, 67, of Edgewood, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2026, in Edgewood. She was born on April 11, 1959, in Covington, Kentucky, to the late James and Wilma (Miller) Mullberry.

Jill shared 37 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Pat Shafer. Together, they enjoyed traveling and making memories that they would cherish throughout their years together. One of their favorite places to spend time was their home in Florida, where Jill especially loved being near the ocean. She had a deep love for the water and found great happiness in the time she spent by the sea.

Jill enjoyed the simple things in life, especially spending time with her family, reading, and cooking. She was known for her delicious lasagna, which became a family favorite and a meal that will always bring back fond memories of her. Jill and Pat also enjoyed frequently dining at Pompilio’s Italian Restaurant in Newport, a place that became part of their special routines together.

Jill will be remembered for the love she shared with her family, the memories she created with those closest to her, and the many little things that made her special to the people who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Wilma (Miller) Mullberry; her brother, Johnny Mullberry; and her niece, Lilly Mullberry.

Jill is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Pat Shafer; her daughter, Hannah Roberts; stepdaughter Katherine Pugh; stepsons, Brian Shafer and Scott Shafer; her grandchildren, Coltin Lee Roberts and Gracie Lynn York; her great-grandchildren, Charlie Swafford and Reid Roberts; and her siblings, Mike Mullberry, Jackie Mullberry, Jibby Marshall, and Patsy Moore.

Jill’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
