Obituary For Jimmie Dale Sebastian

Jimmie Dale Sebastian, age 80, of Crestview Hills, KY, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2026.

Jimmie was born in Booneville, KY, on September 7, 1946, to Kelly Sebastian and Wilma Sumrall Sebastian. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend whose kindness and warm heart touched the lives of everyone who knew him.

Jimmie retired from CSX Railroad after many years of dedicated service as a brakeman and conductor. He was also a proud U.S. Army veteran and a faithful member of Community Family Church in Independence, KY.

Those who knew Jimmie will remember him for his loving heart, his generous spirit, and the way he could make anyone feel welcome. He never met a stranger. Family meant everything to him, and some of his happiest moments were spent surrounded by the people he loved. He also found great joy in listening to gospel music on YouTube, a simple pleasure that brought comfort and happiness to his days.

Jimmie was preceded in death by his beloved granddaughter, Haley Sebastian, who passed away in 2001. Though many years have passed, her memory remained a cherished part of his heart.

He leaves behind a loving family who will carry his memory with them always: his wife of nearly 58 years, Brenda Reid Sebastian; his son, Jason Sebastian (Teresa); his brother, Kelly Sebastian; grandchildren Jeremy, Chelsea, Devin, and Justin; great-grandchildren Haley, Gabrielle, Aynnslie, Tristan, and Logan; and his nephew, Steve Sebastian (Sue).

Jimmie’s life was a testament to the importance of family, faith, kindness, and simply being there for the people you love. He leaves behind countless memories, stories, and moments that will be treasured by his family and friends for years to come. Though he will be deeply missed, his love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.

A committal service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North, 205 Eibeck Lane, Williamstown, KY 41097.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Family Church, 11875 Taylor Mill Road, Independence, KY 41051.

The family asks that anyone attending the committal service to begin arriving and lining up at 11:30 at the cemetery.
