Obituary For Jocelyn Wagner Sodoma

Jocelyn (Wagner) Sodoma passed away on August 21, 2026, in Edgewood, Kentucky.

Jocelyn was born on May 31, 1951, in Brockport, New York. She graduated from Brockport High School (Class of 1969) and received her Associate’s Degree in Marketing from Monroe Community College in Rochester, New York. Following college, she worked for Kodak, Seneca Foods, and Vietnam Veterans of America. She was also a mystery shopper and owned Timespan Resume Service. Jocelyn tirelessly volunteered for her children and her community, which kept her going with fire and brimstone.

Jocelyn met her husband Randy in kindergarten, were together ever since, and shared 54 years of marriage. Together, they built a beautiful life centered around their family. Countless memories were made along the way. Their story, struggles, highpoints, and adventures, are the stuff of which movies are made.

Living and moving across the country numerous times brought new adventures, new experiences, and new friends whom she would cherish forever. Her hundreds of yearly handwritten Christmas cards shared experiences others just dreamed about, news on family happenings, and of course health updates.

Jocelyn loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, catching up on the phone with them, attending craft fairs and yard sales, finding great shopping bargains, a porch filled with flowers and gladiolus, listening to the Backstreet Boys, watching, feeding, and record keeping about birds, and screaming at the TV during Buffalo Bills Football games.

Her laughter, combined with her cackling and crying at the same time, filled the room and our hearts when she watched her favorites – Chevy Chase’s Christmas Vacation, Whose Line Is It Anyway, Scooby Doo, and Designing Women. Halloween was the best with her decorations, traditions, and her booming witch’s costumes and cackle.

No holiday or family gathering was complete without the ridiculously fun games she thought up and her favorite recipes. No one’s attempt could even come close to her apple pie, shrimp salad, chicken and rice, spaghetti, and turkey and stuffing.

To cherish her memory, and the memories she created, she leaves behind her devoted husband, Randy Sodoma; her children, Jeffrey (Melanie) Sodoma and Tamara (Dennis) Humbert; her
grandchildren, Kathryn, Charlotte, and Maverick Sodoma, and Devyn Humbert; her brother Richard (Susan Stryker) Wagner, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Mary (Lockwood) Wagner, her brother Edward Robert Wagner, Jr., sister Carolyn (Wagner) Ellman, and her two grandchildren Charlie and Berlin Humbert.

Linnemann Funeral Home in Erlanger, Kentucky will prepare her for her next chapter, with Fowler Funeral Home in Brockport, New York handling Memorial Services on Friday, September 18, 2026. Visitation will be from 9-11am. A Catholic Ceremony at Fowler Funeral Home will follow at 11am. Immediately after, a procession will be taken to Lakeview Cemetery in Sweden, New York, for Jocelyn’s Interment and Graveside Service.

In lieu of flowers, Jocelyn requested donations be made in her honor and name to Meals on Wheels for Monroe County, New York, which is administered by the University of Rochester’s Medicine Care Foundation. Donations can be made by mail to UR Medicine Care Foundation, P.O. Box 270032, Rochester, New York 14627-0032. Please specify the donation is being made in her name. Donations to them can also be completed online (Donate).
