Obituary For John C. Bridges, Jr.
John C. Bridges, Jr., 89, of Lakeside Park, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Hospice Center in Edgewood, Kentucky with his family by his side.
Born on December 24, 1936, in Louisville, Kentucky, John was the only child of the late John “Jack” Bridges, Sr. and Virginia Bridges. He graduated from the University of Louisville with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry.
In 1959, John married the love of his life, Nancy. Shortly after, he began his career with Pfizer, which took the couple to New York. They eventually returned to Louisville to start their family before settling in Northern Kentucky in 1970. John continued his career in the plastics and chemistry industry, where he built a life centered on hard work, dedication, and family.
Outside of work, John’s happiest place was Lake Cumberland. He and Nancy shared a deep love for the lake, where they enjoyed countless vacations, weekends, and summers aboard their houseboat. Those days on the water became some of their most treasured memories and a lifelong passion they shared together.
John was a true handyman who seemed able to fix just about anything. He preferred to do things himself and could always be counted on to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it.
Above all, John cherished his family. He was especially proud of his grandchildren, who brought him tremendous joy.
John was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 67 years, Nancy, who passed away on September 9, 2026, as well as his parents, Jack and Virginia.
He is survived by his loving children, Keith (Wendy) Bridges and Jill (John) Lowry; grandchildren, Jessica Lowry (Myles Homan), Jack (Heather) Lowry, and Jordan Bridges (Will Leanhart); and brother and sister-in-law, Rod and Susie Macon.
A memorial visitation will be held for John and Nancy on Monday, December 7, 2026, from 4:00 PM-6:00 PM, at Linnemann Funeral Homes and Cremation Center, 30 Commonwealth Ave., Erlanger, KY 41018.
