Obituary For John Kevin Delaney
John Kevin Delaney, 75, of Villa Hills, passed away on January 24, 2026 in his home while surrounded by his family. He was born September 30, 1950 in Cincinnati, OH to the late John and Margaret (nee Allen) Delaney.
Kevin served in the US Navy and earned his bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the University of Cincinnati. He worked 37 years at Emery Industries in Cincinnati as a Chemist.
Kevin loved to travel near and far, reaching places such as Germany, France and Ireland. He was an avid reader, museum enthusiast, and an excellent cook and gardener. In 1976, Kevin was one of Ohio Valley Hockey Association’s founders along with his brother, Tom Delaney, friend, Mark Benzinger, and others at Hamilton Sports Arena. Once the rink closed in Hamilton, they moved to the Cincinnati Gardens, and now Northland Ice Center. Many Sunday nights were spent at Zinger’s, the Dark Castle, sharing funny stories and telling hockey lies while enjoying Little Kings.
Kevin was preceded in death by his son, James Patrick Delaney and brother, Thomas Edward Delaney. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Nancy Ann Delaney, son, John Kevin Delaney, Jr., son, Robert Edward Delaney, daughter, Maureen Elizabeth Delaney, son, Thomas Aloysius Delaney, and sisters, Carol Delaney Wilson and Barbara Delaney Bogosian.
A Mass will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, February 5th at Our Lady of Victory Church, 810 Neeb Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45233 with a Celebration of Life Reception to immediately follow at the Convocation Center located next to the church.
