John L. Stammer, 78, of Edgewood, KY, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 29, 2026.

John was born to the late Elmer L. Stammer and Jean Dotson. He retired from Cincinnati Bell as a Civil Engineer after a long and successful career. John was a man who enjoyed life and made memories wherever he went. He loved bass fishing, traveling—whether near or far—and especially riding his Harley-Davidson. One of his memorable adventures was riding to the Grand Canyon. John also loved to dance and could always be counted on to enjoy a good time.

A devoted sports fan, John proudly cheered on the Cincinnati Bengals and the Alabama Crimson Tide. But above all, John lived for his family. His children and grandchildren were the center of his world, and he was their biggest supporter and their number one fan. He took great pride in their lives and cherished every moment spent with them.

John is survived by his loving children: John C. (Carmen) Stammer, Thomas (Misaki “Miki”) Stammer, Bobby (Stephanie) Stammer and Rebecca “Becky” (Josh) Powell; grandchildren: Heather, Jordan, Andrew, Maria, Ava, Xander, Harper, Brayden, Gage, Abram and Lainey; and great-grandchildren, Mackenzie and Evelyn.

A visitation will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026, from 5:00 PM-7:00 PM at Linnemann Funeral Homes, 1940 Burlington Pike, Burlington, KY 41005. Catholic Blessing with words of remembrance will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 10:00 AM, also at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow at St. Joseph New Cemetery in Cincinnati, OH.
