Obituary For Joseph True

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph True, 98, of Fort Thomas, Kentucky, who entered into eternal rest on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Fort Thomas.

He was surrounded by his loving family in his final hours.

Born on January 18, 1927, in Falmouth, Kentucky, Joe was the son of the late William and Celvina True.

Joe was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 79 years, Dorothy True; his son, Anthony Kent True; sons-in-law Joe Werdman and Greg Rose; sisters Golda Hampton and Alma Jett; and brothers William, James, and Jessie True.

He is survived by his daughter Barbara Werdman; son Gary (Beverly) True; daughter Patti (Tom) McGill; son Craig (Thea) True; son Kevin (Michelle) True; son David (Heather) True; daughter Sherri Rose; son-in-law Joe Devney and sister Fredia Williams . He leaves behind 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren, and a large and loving extended family, including nieces, nephews, and many others who cherished him.

A faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Cold Spring, Joe devoted his life to serving the Lord. His faith was unwavering and ever-growing, and he joyfully shared it with everyone he met. Above all, he truly loved his children and appreciated each one deeply, taking great pride in the family he and Dorothy built.

He worked in various professions throughout his life, concluding his career with Prudential Insurance, always striving to provide for and support his family.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Monday, December 8th, at the First Baptist Church of Cold Spring, with the funeral service following at 12:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Taylor Mill, Kentucky.

Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church of Cold Spring, 4410 Alexandria Pike, Cold Spring, KY 41076.
