Obituary For Joshua Ray McDowell

Joshua “Josh” Ray McDowell, son of Jeffrey and Dara McDowell, was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on April 4, 2003.

A sensitive, creative person, Josh was passionate about creating art. His favorite modalities were wood burning and drawing. His wood burning had hidden captivating details within each piece as he disguised faces to draw the observer into his work and reflect more deeply. When drawing, Josh’s tools were colored pencils and pens emphasizing earth tones and warm colors. His recent focus was on the beauty of fruit, their seeds and the mysteries of the geometric form. A true creator, Josh often looked for diverse and miscellaneous materials to use as canvases. A lover of animals, Josh shared his life with a red-eared terrapin, Skipper, and his cat, Willow.

Josh is survived by his parents; his seven siblings: Sarah English (James), Lara, Alan, Aaron, Jacob, Kellie, and Robert; his nieces and nephews, Jayden, Bella, Isaac, and Morgan; his best friend of many years, Reece Moore; and many other family members and friends.

When you think of Josh, remember his love for family, animals, creativity, and music.

Services will be held from 6:00-8:00pm on January 27th at The Bridge Church, 7906 Alexandria Pike, Alexandria, KY 41001.
