Obituary For Joyce Anne Wilson

Joyce Anne Wilson, (nee Wood), 87, of Union, KY went to be with her Lord on Friday, June 7, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Hospice Facility in Edgewood, KY. She was born on September 26, 1936, in Covington, KY to the late Mary Leoma and Homer Wood. Joy’s great faith was evident to everyone who knew her, and she lived a life of service to many. She was a former member of Calvary Baptist Church, (Latonia, KY), Tri- County Baptist Church, (West Chester, OH), and most recently Hebron Baptist Church, (Hebron, KY). She was an active participant in each church and loved serving in various capacities.

Joy was licensed as a hairdresser but was best known for her excellent cooking and baking skills. No one left her house hungry! She loved sewing, serving at church, staying in touch with her many friends – both near and far, playing the piano and harmonica, and clog dancing! Her motto was “Joy’s my name and fun’s my game”,and you rarely saw her without a smile. Most importantly, she fiercely loved her family, especially her seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and her beloved husband. What a beautiful life well lived.

Joy is survived by her devoted husband of 70 years, Fred Wilson, loving daughters; Terri Bungenstock (Brad), Kathy Summerlin (Jeff), Jennifer Willet (Guy), cherished grandchildren; Chase Summerlin (Sammy), Sam Summerlin (Ally), Kelsey Bungenstock, Spencer Summerlin (Jamie), Alex Willet (Laura), Abby Maddock (Brian), Annie Willet and treasured great grandchildren; Kemper Summerlin, Daisy Maddock, and Kit Summerlin, as well many close, dear friends.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, from 10am until 11am at Hebron Baptist Church, 3435 Limaburg Rd, Hebron, KY 41048, with a service to follow. She will be laid to rest at Kentucky
Veterans Cemetery North in Grant County, KY, immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Hebron Baptist Church, Hebron, KY, or the St.Elizabeth Hospice Facility in Edgewood, KY.
