Kathleen (“Kathy”) Rae Vogt, 74, of Covington, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on April 19th in Latonia, Kentucky.

Kathy was born in Covington, Kentucky to Herbert and Elouise Vogt on July 23rd, 1951. She is survived by her sister, Gayle Smith of Covington, Kentucky. She is preceded in death by her mother, Elouise Vogt Deckard, her father, Herbert Vogt, her stepfather, John Deckard and brother, Glenn Edward (“Eddie”) Vogt.

Kathy was devoted to her family and spent many years helping her mother and stepfather at their home in Ryland Heights and with their rental properties.

Kathy was a kind-hearted person who loved her pets. Over the years she had many dogs, loving each of them dearly. She also at various times had a couple ponies, a squirrel monkey, a pet pig and a talkative myna bird.

Funeral services will be held at Allison and Rose Funeral Home on Friday, April 24th from 10:00 am until noon. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Erlanger, Kentucky.

The family wishes to extend their extreme gratitude to Rosedale Green and to Saint Elizabeth Hospice for the loving care they showed Kathy every day that she was in their care.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like to suggest memorial donations may be made to the Kenton County Animal Shelter in her memory.
