Obituary For Kathryn Hosea

Kathryn “Kathy” Hosea, 80, of Florence, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood, Kentucky.

Born to the late Carl Sr. and Rosemary Hosea, Kathy was a proud graduate of the University of Kentucky and went on to earn her master’s degree from the University of Georgia, beginning her professional career as a speech pathologist.

Never one to shy away from a new challenge, Kathy later made a career change that led her into the corporate world. She became a corporate Vice President at Convergys, where she built a successful career and traveled extensively for work, visiting countries throughout South America, Asia, and Europe.

Outside of her career, Kathy had many interests and passions. She was an avid reader who always appreciated a good book. She loved entertaining and bringing people together, and she enjoyed staying active and maintaining her physical fitness. She was a member of LA Fitness and, in her retired years enjoyed golfing and bowling with her friends.

Above all, Kathy was a devoted aunt who cherished her nieces and nephews. Lovingly known to them as “Kap,” she held a special place in their lives.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents and nephew, Scott Barrett.

She is survived by her siblings, Carl (Bonnie) Hosea, Jr. and Linda Barrett; nieces, Amy (Dave) Cornett and Rebecca Barrett; and grand-nephews, Joseph and Michael Barrett.

Kathy will be laid to rest privately at the convenience of her family.

A celebration of life will be held for Kathy on Friday, September 18, 2026, from 1:00 PM-4:00 PM at the White House located in Presidents Park in Edgewood, KY.
