Kenzie Earl Beard Jr., age 68, of Florence, passed away at home on Sunday, July 19, 2026. Born July 6, 1958 to Kenzie Sr. and Jo Ann Beard, he was preceded in death by his loving parents as well as his brother-in-law, Wesley Teets.

Those who survive Kenzie and will cherish his memory most are his wife of 25 years, Charlotte Haywood; his beloved step-son, Jamie Mendell (Stacye); two grandchildren, Alexis and Pierce Mendell; his siblings, Sherry Phillips (Wade), Brian Beard (Cindy), Bridget Teets, and Melissa Titsworth (Mark); aunts Vicky Sue George and Becky Kay Warneford; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, and even great-great-nieces and -nephews.

Kenzie will be remembered as a man who lived generously and put family at the center of everything he did. Whether he was golfing in charity outings, bowling, fishing on his annual trips to Canada, or enjoying a night at the dirt track, he embraced life with enthusiasm and always gave his best.

Known for his endless lists, fearless spirit, and determination to excel at everything he tried, Kenzie was also someone who would truly give you the shirt off his back. He faithfully cared for his mother for nearly 25 years, a reflection of his unwavering love and selflessness. Nothing brought him more joy than spoiling his grandchildren and gathering his close-knit family together.

Kenzie leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, hard work, and unconditional love. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Visitation will be held at Floral Hills Funeral Home, Chapel A, Friday, July 24 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, with funeral services beginning at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
