Leland was born in Pendleton County, Kentucky on September 9, 1926, to the late William and Cora Bentle. Leland was raised on a large farm in Pendleton County with his siblings, Harold, Kenneth, Carmen, Corrine, Vernon and Omer. He then met the love of his life, Betty Emminger and later they married and purchased a farm in Boone County. He also had a great love of playing cards, spiritual songs, square dancing, and cars. Specifically, the Chevrolet El Camino in which he owned 6 over the years. Leland leaves behind his loving wife of 71 years, Betty Bentle; son, Gary Bentle (Susan); grandchildren, Brooke Wheatley (Joshua) and Bradley Bentle (Alison); great grandchildren, Jack, Lyla, and Mary Wheatley and Leonardo Leland Bentle; brother, Omer Bentle (Jane); as well as many nieces and nephews all of whom he loved dearly.
