Obituary For Linda Fay Schwartz

Linda Fay Humphries Schwartz, 81, of Burlington, KY, walked into the arms of our Lord in Heaven on April 8th at St. Elizabeth Hospice Facility in Edgewood, KY.

Linda was born on August 22, 1944, in Newport, Kentucky. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ally and Alice Humphries; her brother, Lonnie Humphries; her sister, Bonnie Humphries; and her husband, James Schwartz (Jim).

Linda was a devout Catholic. She volunteered her time and spread her friendship throughout the community and at St. Barbs Catholic Church in Erlanger. She married the love of her life, Jim Schwartz, at age 17. Their devotion to one another was unique, genuine, and carried an unwavering commitment. Their deep foundation and steadfast love led to raising 3 incredible children: Jimmy Schwartz (Lisa), Kelli Arlinghaus (John), and Danny Schwartz (Katie). Her love only grew with the arrival of her 8 amazing grandchildren: Abbie (Preston), Emily (Tyler), Lincoln (Kiersten), Lindley, Libby, Wyatt, Lydia, and Colton.

Linda loved spending winters in Destin with Jim, and later with her girlfriends, Claudia and Barb, where they would walk on the beach and share stories about the kids and grandkids.

Her spark and welcoming warmth followed her wherever she roamed. She loved nothing more than laughing around her adult kids and grandchildren. “Memal” adored their time and energy—not at fancy events or big trips, but in the simple days at home when their presence filled the room. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and unwavering devotion to those she held dear.

A visitation and memorial will be held at St. Pius Church on Dudley Rd in Edgewood on Saturday, April 25th. The visitation will start at 10:00 am, followed by Mass at 11 am.

In lieu of flowers, Linda’s wish was for donations to the Bereavement Committee of St. Pius Church.
