Linzie Earl Winkle Jr. 67, of Newport, Kentucky passed away peacefully on December 13, 2025. He was the son of Linzie Earl Winkle Sr. and Wanda Fern (Lipscomb) Blaine. Linzie retired from Flottweg, where he worked as a Service Technician. He was a member of Holy Spirit Church in Newport and enjoyed target shooting, swimming, and grilling. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Debra Winkle; his son, Ryan (Laura) Winkle; his sister, Rosalene “Missy” Winkle; and his beloved grandchildren, Lindsay and Jack, whom he loved dearly along with his nephew Alcenio James Nieves and niece Julianna Marie Nieves. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Edward Gene Winkle and James Lee Winkle.
A visitation will be held at Cooper Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. The service will begin at 12:00 noon, with burial to follow at Alexandria Cemetery. Cooper Funeral Home is honored to serve the Winkle family.
