Lois Jean Elizabeth Lambers, 85, of Covington, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 10, 2026, surrounded by all her daughters.

Born with a lifelong passion for learning and serving others, Lois devoted her life to education, faith, family, and her community. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Frank Lambers; her cherished daughter, Nancy Bresser (Brett); her brother, Frank Schuerman; and her sister, Rita Davey.

Lois is lovingly survived by her daughters, Dr. Donna Lambers (Charlie Sutkamp), Lisa Mason (Jon), Jean Bode (Scott), and Laura Elder (Chad); her sister, Carole Adams; her beloved grandchildren, Dylan Mason (Janice), Jacklyn Bode (Ram Finnegan), Courtney Del Rosso (AJ), Spencer Mason (Ally Tekulve), Matt Sutkamp (Leigha Fahrenfeld), Nick Sutkamp (Emily Sauer), Hunter Bode (Jenna), Sara Lynn Mason, Katie Sutkamp, Julia Elder, Nancy Sutkamp, Graham Elder, and Meredith Elder; and her treasured great-grandsons, Finn Mason and Cole Bode Del Rosso, along with extended family members including many nieces, nephews, and cousins and dear friends who will deeply miss her.

Lois dedicated her life to education. She began her teaching career as a second-grade teacher before recognizing the need for early childhood education in Boone County. She founded a private kindergarten at a time when no such program was available in the community, helping countless young children begin their educational journey.

Her commitment to lifelong learning continued as she became the Director of Adult Education Programs for Boone County Schools. Among her many accomplishments was establishing the Boone County GED Graduation Ceremony, giving adult learners the opportunity to celebrate their achievements with the dignity and recognition they deserved. Throughout her career, she inspired students of every age to believe in themselves and pursue their dreams.

After earning her college degree, Lois continued her own education by completing a master's degree in religion. She answered a call to ministry and served as a pastoral associate at St. Timothy Parish in Union, where she faithfully ministered to parishioners with compassion, wisdom, and unwavering faith.

Lois's dedication to her community extended far beyond the classroom and church. She was passionate about supporting the education of the children of St. Charles of the Catholic Diocese of Solwezi in Zambia, Africa; believing that education was the key to transforming lives across the world. In recognition of her extraordinary service, she was honored in 1993 as one of the Outstanding Women of Northern Kentucky. She also proudly served on the Boone County Ethics Commission, where she continued her lifelong commitment to improving the lives of others.

Above all else, Lois cherished her family. She instilled in her children and grandchildren the values of education, faith, compassion, service, and perseverance. Her example of generosity and lifelong learning will continue to inspire generations to come.

Lois's legacy lives on in the countless students she taught, the families she served, the community she strengthened, and the loved ones who were blessed to know her. She will be remembered for her kind heart, unwavering faith, tireless dedication to others, and her enduring belief that education has the power to change lives.

Friends and family will gather on Friday, August 14, 2026, at St. Timothy Church, 10272 US 42, Union, KY 41091, for a visitation, beginning at 12:00 p.m. until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00 p.m. A reception for all will follow at the church.
