Obituary For Lois June Holtkamp
Born June 27, 1934, in Latonia, KY to the late John Thomas and Alice M. Elam. Entered heavenly rest on May 16, 2025, at The Seasons@Alexandria. She married Harry E. Holtkamp and together, they raised their six children at Decoursey Baptist Church where she perfected the mom “sit-down-and-be-quiet” look and ensured the kids were in Sunday School every Sunday, so they received their pin for perfect attendance. Later, she moved her membership to Ashland Avenue Baptist. Since moving to The Seasons, she has been pastored by Chaplains Brady and Kyle. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, Harry Sr., whose last spoken word was June; their son Harry Jr, grandsons Jacob Gripshover and Quintin (Yankee) Roark Jr; sister Teena Hawn, and brothers Richard, Allen and Robert Elam. June is survived by her daughters Debbie (Bob) Petrey, Diana Todtenbier, Darla Pope Denise (Quintin) Roark; son Donald Holtkamp, 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and her grand pup Baxter, who visited her regularly. In earlier days, June enjoyed gardening, canning and farming with her parents; Girls in Action, WMU, and playing the piano for the youth choir at church; working on the FOP Country Western shows with her husband and traveling with him when he was working investigations for Robert Sanders Law Office. She enjoyed sewing clothes and quilts for her family, family vacations, family reunions, visits from her kids, grand kids, and great grandkids, family game days, and since moving in to The Seasons, BINGO. June never met a stranger and if you visited her, she was always a good hostess and would insist on feeding you. Special thanks to the staff and residents at The Seasons, who have become family to the entire Holtkamp family. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to The Seasons@Alexandria for the Pastoral and Activities Departments.
A Visitation will take place at Floral Hills Funeral Home (Chapel A) on Friday, May 23, 2025,
