Obituaries

Lola Mae Parker, 80, of California, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2026.

Born to the late Charles Fredrick Gaskins and Nellie Powers, Lola was a devoted member of California Community Church. She found great joy in cross-stitching and lovingly sewing blankets for family and friends, creating treasured keepsakes that will continue to bring comfort for years to come. During the warmer months, she could often be found tending to her garden, where she found peace and happiness. Lola also possessed a beautiful singing voice and was a blessing to many who had the privilege of hearing her sing.

In addition to her parents, Lola was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles Gaskins Jr, Freddy Gaskins, Danny Gaskins, and Tommy Gaskins; and her sisters, Grace Kreyling, Betty Cropenbaker, Mary Young, Hazel Smith, and Rosie Buckler.

She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Robert Parker; her daughter, Heather (Bob) Starrett; her sons, Jason (Lisa) Parker, Kevin Parker, and Kenneth (Jennifer) Parker; her brother, Bobby Gaskins; her twin sister, Lela Buckler; her grandchildren, Josh (Kelsey) Parker, Courtney (Johny) Dischar, Logan (Kanoe) Starrett, Garrett Parker, Caleb Parker, Reagan Parker, and Kennedy Parker; as well as seven cherished great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 10, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at Cooper Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 noon, with burial immediately following at Grandview Cemetery.
