Obituary For Mable Helton
Mable Helton, née Melton, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2026, in Florence, Kentucky. Born on October 7, 1935, in Burkesville, Kentucky, Mable’s life was marked by kindness, humility, and a deep-rooted faith that sustained her throughout her years.
The daughter of Elza Melton, a devoted Methodist minister, and Rhoda Melton (née Riddle), Mable grew up immersed in the church, sharing the joy of song alongside her sister. Her faith remained a steady and guiding presence in her life—a testament to the values instilled in her from a young age.
Mable was a woman of many interests and passions. An avid doll collector, she found delight in the simple pleasures of life, including spending time outdoors tending to her cherished garden filled with flowers. She thoroughly enjoyed attending the sporting and music events of her children and grandchildren, always offering support and encouragement. Additionally, she enjoyed exploring yard sales and flea markets.
Above all, Mable was immensely proud of her family, especially her grandchildren who brought her so much joy and pride. Her loving spirit is remembered and cherished by her devoted daughter Cindy (Rick) Gilland, son Tony (Joni) Helton, and daughter Jenny Aylor. She is also survived by grandchildren Josh, Molly (Arrick), Katie (Eric), Ryle (Daniella), Bryssa, Lauryn, Emily, Nick, and a growing circle of great-grandchildren: Chandler (Skylar), Zoe, Oliver, Graham, Bryson, Keegan, Kenzie, Brynlee, Jameson, and Sadie Belle. Among those who held her dear was close family friend Jennifer Fletcher, along with numerous other family members and friends who will carry her memory in their hearts.
Mable was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Burl Helton, her parents Elza and Rhoda Melton, and her son-in-law Andy Aylor.
Her visitation will be held on May 19, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. followed by a service at Newcomer Funeral Home, Northern Kentucky, located at 4350 Dixie Hwy, Erlanger, Kentucky. The burial will take place on May 20, 2026, beginning at 12:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 3227 Dixie Highway, Erlanger, Kentucky.
Mable Helton’s gentle nature and unwavering faith leave a lasting legacy to all who had the privilege to know her. As we gather to honor her memory, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, devotion, and quiet strength.
