Margaret Ann Lay, of Florence, Kentucky, passed away on October 3, 2026, at the age of 75. She was born on August 17, 1951, in Knoxville, Tennessee.

Margaret will be remembered for the warmth she brought to those around her and for the joy she found in life’s simple beauties. She loved fall, and took special delight in watching the leaves fade into their autumn colors. Green was her favorite color, a small reflection of the natural beauty she appreciated so much. She also enjoyed making people laugh, and that gift for sharing lightheartedness helped brighten the days of family and friends alike.

Above all, Margaret loved spending time with her family. The moments shared together meant the most to her, and her presence will be remembered with affection by those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her beloved daughter, Tara Rose, grandchildren, Tyler, Katelyn and Elijah, and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Houston Lay and Lillian Lay (nee Marshall) and siblings, Joe, Louna, Jimmy, Charlene, Charles, Frances and Renny.

A memorial gathering will be held on October 16, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, Northern Kentucky, 4350 Dixie Hwy, Erlanger, Kentucky 41018.

Margaret Ann Lay will be remembered with love for her laughter, her appreciation for the beauty of the season she cherished, and the care she shared with others throughout her life.
