Obituary For Margaret Elizabeth Dickerson

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and dear friend passed away peacefully at her son’s, Tom and Karen residence at the age of 93. Peggy was a source of love and warmth to everyone who knew her. Her kindness and generosity touched the lives of many. Her memory will live on in our hearts forever.

Peggy was a housewife while her son was growing up and later worked at the office of Giglia, O’Connor and Gunn Obstetrics. She helped her husband Ralph with his Service Station by keeping his books up to date. She was a life long member of Sacred Heart Church. Peggy was devout in her faith and lived it every day.

Peggy had friends from grade school that remained close. They would meet for lunch every week and always had each other’s back. They have all mostly passed on. Her dear friends Jean “Toots” Schutzman, Rose Schutzman and Barb Hecker were like sisters to Peggy. Peggy and Ralph had an epic Derby Party every year and all their friends and family gathered for a night of laughter and fun. Peggy liked her beer and Ralph liked his Highballs. She was a fantastic Mom to Tom and a special mother- in- law to Karen. She considered Karen to be her daughter. Peggy was a great cook and Tuesday night was the 101 club at their house for a few friends that lost their spouses. Peggy was noted for her country breakfasts, her breaded pork chops and her tacos. Thursday night was family night for whoever could make it. It was always family first with Peggy. She loved her grandchildren like they were her own children.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Connolly and Thelma Eilers Connolly, Her husband Ewell “Ralph” Dickerson and a sister Marian Vestring. Peggy is survived by her son, Thomas E Dickerson [Karen], Three grandchildren, Andrew Dickerson, Heather [Trevor] Barth and Kara Anne [Tim] O’Hearn. Six Great Grandchildren, Bryson and Aidan Dickerson, Carson Brown, Nolan and Mia O’Hearn and Braylen Ralph Barth and sister- in- law Carolyn Sue Alexander. May she rest in peace next to her beloved Ralph with whom she was married and devoted to for 60 years. They had a beautiful life and love for each other. May their reunion in Heaven start right back up.

Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 a.m., Monday, October 20th at Divine Mercy Parish, Bellevue. Peggy will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Cemetery, Wilder.

Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital., 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 (stjude.org). This was very dear to Peggy’s heart.
