Obituary For Marilyn Ann Trutschel

Marilyn Ann Trutschel (nee King), 81, of Cincinnati, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2026 at Bethesda North Hospital surrounded by family. She was born March 6, 1944 to the late Willie and Dorothy (nee Ellison) King in Dayton, Kentucky.

While residing in Kentucky, Marilyn was a devoted member of St. Philip Parish, where she played an active role in both the church and school for many years. She sang in the St. Philip Choir, helped cook in the school kitchen, and faithfully participated in parish activities. Her service reflected her belief in giving of herself for the good of others and the glory of God. Marilyn also worked at Holy Family, where she lovingly cared for the nuns who lived there, offering them kindness, respect, and compassionate support. Marilyn also enjoyed selling Sarah Coventry Jewelry and shared her God-given artistic talent by painting beautiful pictures on the large window at Lloyd’s Lane.

After moving to Chillicothe, Marilyn made many cherished friends, especially during her years working at the Chillicothe Telephone Company. In her later years, she found comfort and peace in watching her favorite television programs, including Gunsmoke, soap operas, and the EWTN channel. Often, she could be found working on a word-find puzzle while enjoying her shows, content in the simple routines of daily life.

Above all, Marilyn cherished the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. They were her pride and joy and a true blessing in her life. She loved them deeply and remained actively involved in their lives whenever possible, offering love, guidance, and prayers that will continue to surround them. Marilyn was always selfless and devoted to giving to everyone around her. Marilyn had a beautiful soul and a beautiful smile that would light up every room she walked into.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, William, Paul, James, Bernard, and Charles King; sister, Dorothy "Dottie" Cuthrell and devoted son-in-law Jay Behmer.

Marilyn is survived by her sons, Michael Trutschel, Timothy Trutschel, Scott (Tiffany) Trutschel; daughters, Kimberly Trutschel, Pamela Behmer, Kelly (Charles) Douglas, Hollie (Ryan) Oiler; grandchildren, Amanda Behmer, Shawn (Anna) Behmer, Aiden Oiler, Chloe Oiler, Marisa Douglas, and Amber Bauman. Marilyn will also be missed by many nieces and nephews, granddogs and grandcats.

Visitation will be held 10:00 am to 11:00 am, Saturday, February 21, 2026 at St. Philip Church, Melbourne, Kentucky with Mass following at 11:00 am. Burial will take place at St. Stephen Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Salvation Army, 340 W 10th St, Newport, KY, 41071 or Wounded Warriors, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675.
