Dr. Mark Gregory Schweitzer, 59, of Ft. Thomas, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2026.

Mark served the community as the Campbell County Coroner since 1998 and was a chiropractor, husband and father, law school graduate, and member of the TPCA.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Donald & Betty Schweitzer.

He is survived by his wife, Susan (née Gossett) Schweitzer; daughters, Sarah (Adam) Hoye-Simek, Abigail (Michael) Fairchild & Grace (Sam Mushaben) Schweitzer; sons, Benjamin (Katie) & Luke Schweitzer; sisters, Sandy (Don) Robb, Judy Horgan, Cindy (Brad) Hood, Gina (Steve) Schmitt & Mary (Joe) Fischer; and brothers, Rick (Ramona) Schweitzer & Jim (Lynn) Huber.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m.–12:45 p.m., with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, October 7th, at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Ft. Thomas. A reception will follow at the Cold Spring Community Center. Interment will take place at St. Stephen Cemetery, Ft. Thomas, at the convenience of the family.

Mark’s family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the physicians, nurses, and staff of the Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit (NSICU) and the Palliative Care team at University of Cincinnati Hospital for the extraordinary care and compassion they provided to Mark, and for the kindness and support they showed our family.

Mark was a passionate advocate for organ and tissue donation and, through donation, was able to help others after his passing. In honor of his commitment to giving others hope, memorial contributions may be made to Network for Hope, 615 Elsinore Place, Suite 400, Cincinnati, Ohio 45202.
