Obituary For Marlene Ann Baxter

Marlene Ann (Marty) Baxter, 86, of Cold Spring, KY, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2026.

Marlene was a homemaker and a member of St. Therese Parish, Southgate, KY, where she was a member of several religious groups. She worked as a tour guide for P&G and later at Van Leunens in Newport, KY as a floral designer and manager of the Gift Department.

From an early age, Marlene centered her life around prayer, service, and compassion. Her faith guided everything she did, whether volunteering in her parish, supporting church ministries, or offering comfort and encouragement to those in need. She spent countless hours participating in Mass and Adoration. Her gentle spirit and servant’s heart touched everyone who knew her.

She lived each day with gratitude and grace, finding joy in simple moments and always putting others before herself. Her commitment to living out the teachings of Christ was evident not only in her words but in the way she lived - steadfast, generous, and full of love.

Marlene was born October 26, 1939 in Cincinnati, OH to the late Joseph Brookbank and Catherine (nee: Schafer) Brookbank. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Baxter, Sr., daughter, Wanda Stephenson, sons-in-law Mike Brooks, Sr., Gary Rothenbusch, Jerry Brooks, and Wayne Stephenson.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Brooks, sons, Howard Donald (Stephanie) Baxter, Jr., Mark (Kelly) Baxter, 10 grandchildren & many great grandchildren, who will forever cherish her memory and carry forward the lessons of faith she instilled.
