Obituary For Marlene G. Schalk
Marlene G. (née Marshall) Schalk, 85, passed away on April 10, 2026, at her home with her family at her side. Marlene was born on November 14, 1940, in Alexandria, KY, to parents Stanley and Viola (née Field) Marshall.
Marlene was a homemaker, having raised three wonderful girls. She will be remembered for her faith in the Lord. She loved decorating, crafting, and baking. She also always liked to dress her best and accessorize accordingly. Most of all, she loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Marlene is preceded in death by and her sister-in-law, Garnet Marshall.
Marlene is survived by her spouse, Donald Schalk; daughters: Tamara Starnes, Tracy Mann (Danny), and Tonya Sandlin (David); brother, Gary Marshall; sister, Brenda Carr (Donnie); grandchildren: Chad Starnes (Jordan), Shannon Hornbach (Zac), Brittany Holmes (Tim), Tori Starnes, Chase Dunn (Shannon), Erica Zeidan (Danny), and Elizabeth Davenport (Jarius); also survived by sixteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 16, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Immanuel Baptist Church (1237 Rocky View Dr., Highland Heights, KY 41076), with the funeral service immediately following at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Jeff Fain officiating. Burial will take place following services at Alexandria Cemetery.
