Obituaries

FAIRBORN, OH – Marsha Farrell, 72, of Covington, Ky, met her Savior face-to-face on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, after concluding her earthly journey.

She was born March 28, 1952, in Detroit, MI, to Marshall and Marjorie (Kenny) Roesch. She married Mike Farrell in Northville, MI, on November 30, 1974. They followed Jesus together for forty-four years in marriage, first in Michigan and then in Covington, Ky. Mike preceded her in death on August 28, 2019. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Jeri Roesch, of Erlanger, Ky.

Surviving are two sons, David (Cara) Farrell of Fairborn, OH, and Jonathan (Jaime) Farrell of Morton, IL.; eight grandchildren, Austin, Collin, Gavin, Jack, Jorja, Jolie, Jemma and Job.

As a follower of Jesus, Marsha’s life was marked by sacrificial love for others. She and Mike served and invested faithfully in many the Lord brought across their path - their family, their church family - including young adults, seniors, shut-ins, missionaries, and those from their workplaces too. Generously loving and encouraging her eight grandchildren was one of the delights of her life over the past twenty-four years. Marsha also used her gifts and training as a registered nurse, serving at St. Elizabeth North emergency room for most of her 44 years in the profession, which she retired from in May of 2022, shortly before she received her ALS diagnosis. During these last months, she has modeled a humble dependence on the Lord, and selfless love for others even as her physical challenges increased. Beginning here on earth, and now true for eternity, she celebrated that her soul was safe in the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ.

Marsha was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Covington, Ky, where a funeral service will be held at Noon on Saturday, October 7, 2023, with Pastor Eric Mounts officiating. Visitation will precede the service from 10 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. A private family burial will take place at Highland Cemetery in Fort Mitchell, Ky.
